There really are two very distinct ends to the current situation with regard to online gambling in The United States.

One the one hand we have all the positive talk about the possible lifting of the band and on the other we have sporadic jumps by law enforcement to deal with the situation as it is now.

A particular example of the latter was the recent seizing of gambling related domain names and the ensuing court battles that have taken place.

All of the this came about when gambling and online casino domain names were seized by law enforcement officials in Kentucky.

The owners of there domain names promptly began legal proceedings and the current situation is that one appeals court has already clearly stated that the seizures were unlawful.

The next stage for this particular case will be the Kentucky Supreme Court.
